"First Light" for PANIC at Calar Alto Observatory

After about 8 years of development, the near-infrared wide-field camera PANIC entered operations during the full moon night November 6/7 2014 at the Calar Alto 2.2m telescope.

Observatory: Sierra Nevada Observatory

Description:

The Sierra Nevada Observatory (OSN) is located in Loma de Dilar, in The ski resort of The Sierra Nevada (Granada, Andalucía). It is operated, mainteined and supplied by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (IAA-CSIC). There are two telescopes of 1.5m and 0.90m apertures.

Status: Under maintenance and improvement.
